Design Strategy - UCAS - Chester Interview

6B2 - Research into education, schools and relevant information required for my interview at Chester University.
6D2 - How I presented myself through the interview process.

The interview had a few different sections to it, the first was a 2 minute presentation on an object of your choice. I chose to take the worry people I own and talk about the history of them and also how they have helped me and my anxiety. Through this brief talk, I used my design skills of communication and how to engage an audience by involving them and asking them questions. Doing presentations throughout the past three years, pitching, PPP presentations have all helped with my confidence and ability to engage an audience.

Another aspect was a group task, where we were given an object to create a range of lesson ideas for. Obviously my creative skills came of use within this, to think outside the box, as well as teamwork and leadership skills which I have gained from working on briefs with multiple people and being a part of a studio and a team.

A written task on a previously given topic, I chose technology in schools, as this was a focus on one my briefs from last year, therefore I already had an understanding and a collection of research on this topic.

Finally the interview itself where they asked me a range of questions in all different aspects, both personally and professionally.  Specifically they questioned me about my design work I spoke about in my Personal Statement, which I was able to talk about with pride and excitement and how the skills I learn through practicing graphic design can also be applied to teaching and will make me stand out as a teacher.
