Personal Branding - Evaluation

6B2 - Evaluating my design skills and projects.

The final designs and brand as a whole are cohesive and work well across the media they have been applied to, as well as successfully communicating not only the concept being The Creative Teacher, but also my personality and exisiting within the context it sits within across the educational and teaching community.

The designs are successful as they create a professional brand and identity which portrays myself as a playful, yet engaging individual which are important qualities needed within teaching. As well as showcasing the skills I can bring to the teaching profession and my job which others may not have, helps to stand out from the rest. It also means when professionals, fellow teachers or even parents search across social media, it displays a skilful, innovative, experienced individual.

Improvements mainly lie around the content, however this will be updated and continued when I advance to further studies and begin to carry out my PGCE especially focusing on the blog and Instagram presence. Until then I will continue to grow a following of like minded educators, innovators, creatives and teachers who I can inspire and get inspiration from. The restrictions of social media means that the quality of some of the designs is reduced occasionally.

In conclusion it is successful as it communicates my personality whilst also having consideration for the context of where my practice and career is heading. It’s playful and engaging which represents how I would apply myself in the classroom as well as helping me to stand out with my creative and design skills. It creates a professional identity which I can share, communicate and inspire with other teachers and creatives and also creating a professional front across social media for potential employers, colleagues, parent and children, whilst my personal accounts can remain private and personal.
